Santa Cruz

This small town, 57 km from Liberia, is a possible overnight stop for people visiting the peninsula. There is an annual rodeo and fiesta during the second week in January.

An interesting excursion is to the village of Guaitil, 12 km away, where local families make and sell attractive pottery in the pre-Columbian Chorotega style.
