San Isidro De El General

Population 40,000 San Isidro is the main town on the Interamericana Sur. The Rio General valley is important for agriculture. A bustling, pleasant and fairly modern town, San Isidro is a transport hub and the commercial center of the coffee fincas, cattle ranches and plant nurseries that dot the mountain slopes. There's a small Museo Regional del Sur at Calle 2 and Av 1.

Special Events

The annual agricultural fair is held at the beginning of February. San Isidro is the patron saint of farmers, who bring animals into town to be blessed on May 15.
