Puerto Jimenez

Population 6000 This is the main town on the Peninsula de Osa. It is 76 km (32 unpaved) from the Interamericana at Chacarita, or 20 km away from Golfito by boat. Gold mining and logging have made Puerto Jimenez fairly important, and with improved access, there is a burgeoning tourist industry. This is the main entry town to Parque Nacional Corcovado. The town of Puerto Jimenez is pleasant and friendly.
